Republic of Serbia Goverment
Total Refurbishment and extension of the building founded in 1844. Total area 13,500 sq.m.
Existing building was in a deteriorating condition and there was a constant risk of loosing national treasures. Reconstruction has retained the character of the old building and addition of the glass roof has added a contemporary flavor. Glass roof is shaded to prevent direct solar gain. Air conditioning of
prominent exhibition area, at the bottom of 6,000 sq.m atrium,
represented the challenge for itself.
CFD modelling was employed to ensure that strict microclimate is maintained throughout the atrium area. Due attention was paid to the state of the art BMS system ensuring 24/7 operation of the building.
